“Heaven For Kids” Park Renovation
The Dogwood Charitable Foundation, along with the Sonora Area Foundation, is sponsoring a renovation of the Heaven For Kids playground on Greenley Road in Sonora. We will be giving the park a face lift. Volunteers will be needed to help clean up the park, repair broken playground equipment, oil wood surfaces, paint, and do a variety of general repairs to the playground. The project will be done over two weekends in September. All are welcome to come help. We value our children and our community and want the playground to be a safe and enjoyable place for years to come.
Volunteers will have a chance to win a new bike at the end of the park renovation. Please sign up for the drawing at the sign in table when you come to volunteer.
Volunteers need to bring: 3” paint brush, paint pail, work gloves, safety goggles, lunch, drinks, sunscreen, hats. Also needed for the second weekend: shovels, wheelbarrows and sturdy rakes for spreading wood chips.
We will also be in need of a few good carpenters the first weekend.
